Holidays in Cyclades – Guide

The Cyclades, with their characteristic white houses, blue domes, and crystal-clear waters, are among the most beloved summer destinations in Greece — and not without reason. If you’re thinking of a holiday that combines island charm, history, beaches, and vibrant nightlife or absolute tranquility, then the Cyclades are for you!

When to go?

July and August are the “busiest” months, but if you want to avoid the crowds, prefer June or September. The weather is excellent and prices are more affordable.

How to get around?

From Piraeus or Rafina, there are daily ferries. For the most popular islands, there are also direct flights. If you plan to visit many islands, consider organizing island hopping with regular routes from Blue Star Ferries, Seajets, etc.

What to try?

• Santorinian fava and sun-dried tomatoes
• Mykonian kopanisti (spicy cheese spread)
• Naxian gruyere and potatoes
• Sifnian revithada (chickpea stew)
• Local sweets such as amygdalota (almond cookies) and xerotigana (fried dough pastries)
